I'm not sure what I'll be titling this, but I would like to talk about my experience with Instagram. I have been using it for my cats since September 14, 2015. I started out just making it for Waffles and for fun (I already took a million photos of her anyways so it gave me somewhere to put them). It quickly grew into something more and before I knew it, I felt like an official crazy cat lady!
It has now been two years since the start of my journey into Instagram and a lot has changed. I was flown out for CatCon, I now have three cats, got married, made connections with different brands, I've run A LOT of giveaways, changed around jobs... I have also made some very good furriends and friends because of it. I am so thankful for the love and support I have experienced over the last couple years. It has helped me in so many ways. I never thought I could make so many connections to people all over the world this way, but I have and I love it!
It took me awhile but I got @thewondercatfamily to reach 10K followers. Now, it has been stuck for MONTHS around 10.5 or 10.6K and just doesn't seem to get any higher. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I would love some tips in order to help continue growing. I try to post almost everyday, to post good quality photos, and be an active member of the community. However I still only get, on average, under 200 likes per post. Now on the other hand, @thewondercatcrew has 678 followers and sometimes gets more likes and WAY more comments than my main account with 10K. I have also seen other accounts that have a smaller following get thousands of likes and more engagement. This is where Instagram confuses the hell out of me. I don't think I'll ever understand it. I know I've heard of people forming pods so they all regularly comment and like each others posts, but I have never actually been a part of one and am not sure if that would help or not. I apologize for getting into the numbers side of things, but it is part of the Instagram world and can be very frustrating.
